You can walk on down a certain city side street
Where the chimney stacks and the timber yards lie
There’s a nondescript brick wall
You might not notice it at all
And an entrance way you can easily walk by
The way it might be small
But it’s open to all

You just take a step inside

You’ve entered the world of the Bargees
There’s longboats there of every shape and colour
And the fancy jobs all covered in with glass
They’re out on parade
For the brand new tourist trade
The future in a world that’s fading fast
There’s washing on the line
And dogs of every kind
And children running round with dirty knees
A world that moves so slow
Will surely have to go
That’s how I saw the world of the Bargees
In the History books it all looks so romantic
Living the life of a water-borne Gypsy King and Queen
But when the cold wind moans
And the mist cut through your bones
It's a hard life for any woman or man
But families lived and died
In a home less than six feet wide
It’s forty years or more
With a young man’s eyes I saw
But memory is what the heart still sees
It was all to do with cost

In a career spanning over 50 years Keith has recorded multiple albums, played acoustic guitar on Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’
album, appeared at the first Glastonbury Festival in 1970 and gigged solo all over the UK and Europe.
A legendary live performer he has had a resurgence in popularity since ‘Crazy Dancing Days’ was released in December 2016 and ‘Life,Life’ in 2019
