Bargees
You can walk on down a certain city side street
Where the chimney stacks and the timber yards lie
There’s a nondescript brick wall
You might not notice it at all
And an entrance way you can easily walk by
The way it might be small
But it’s open to all
There’s no gates and no entrance fee
You just take a step inside
And suddenly you find
You’ve entered the world of the Bargees
There’s longboats there of every shape and colour
And the fancy jobs all covered in with glass
They’re out on parade
For the brand new tourist trade
The future in a world that’s fading fast
There’s washing on the line
And dogs of every kind
And children running round with dirty knees
A world that moves so slow
Will surely have to go
That’s how I saw the world of the Bargees
In the History books it all looks so romantic
Living the life of a water-borne Gypsy King and Queen
But when the cold wind moans
And the mist cut through your bones
It's a hard life for any woman or man
But families lived and died
In a home less than six feet wide
It’s forty years or more
With a young man’s eyes I saw
But memory is what the heart still sees
It was all to do with cost
And a way of life now lost
That’s how it was
The world of the Bargees

Plunder Town

On April 14 1912, the bridge heard the crow’s nest lookout bell
1st Officer Murdoch said “What did you see”, “Iceberg straight ahead”, said Seaman Fleet
They rang hard to starboard, they rang full astern, but at 21 knots there was no room to turn
Too late the warnings all ignored, for 1500 left on board
RIFF
The rich and the titled left in boats, hats and diamonds and ermine coats
While down below the steerage class found gates and hatches locked fast
With a roar like thunder she broke in two, and on a cold starry night was lost from view
She spilled her contents in the deep far and wide, and down with her went the class divide
Plunder Town, Plunder Town
Lying on the bottom over two miles down
Plunder Town, Plunder Town
Lying on the bottom over two miles down
RIFF
China doll, silver spoon, they’ve all got a value in the auction room
An 1814 bottle of Krug, just the sort of drink for the party mood
A broken light from the fallen foremast, chamber pots and leaded glass
A pair of ladies high-backed shoes, silver trays and brass spittoons
Plunder Town, Plunder Town
Lying on the bottom over two miles down
Plunder Town, Plunder Town
Lying on the bottom over two miles down
RIFF
A 3rd class coffee cup with design, of the once-proud flag of the White Star line
While down below in the icy cold, the search goes on for the Guggenheim gold
Plunder Town, Plunder Town
Lying on the bottom over two miles down
Plunder Town, Plunder Town
Lying on the bottom over two miles down

WAR BEHIND WALLS
ON THE BATTLEFIELD OF FAMILY
THERE ARE NO RULES OF WAR
NO CAMERAS ON THE UPLINK
TO SPY BEHIND THE DOOR
NO PRISONERS ARE TAKEN
AND WHEN THE DARKNESS FALLS
THE SHATTERED PEACE IS SILENT
IN THE WAR, BEHIND WALLS
THE GUARDIANS OF THE FUTURE
ARE LOCKED IN ANGRY PRIDE
FOR THE LISTENERS ON THE LANDING
THERE IS NO PLACE TO HIDE
ONE SPIRIT 1S LEFT RAGING
WHILE THE OTHER CRAWLS
DESTRUCTION IN THE HEARTLAND
IN THE WAR, BEHIND WALLS
JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CONFLICT
IT'S THE YOUNG THAT SUFFER MOST
HEADS DOWN IN THE CROSSFIRE
FROM THE PILLAR, AND THE POST
THEY WISH THEIR LIVES WERE DIFFERENT
WHILE THE BATTLE BRAWLS
VICTIMS OF THE FRONTLINE
IN THE WAR BEHIND WALLS
EVERYBODY HAS EMOTIONS
AND SOMETIMES WIRES SET CROSSED
SHOTS GET FIRED IN ANGER
WHEN COMPANIONSHIP GETS LOST
BUT WHEN THE FIGHT GOES ON FOR EVER
IT'S TIME TO SOUND RECALL
AND PART THE BITTER ARMIES
FROM THE WAR BEHIND WALLS

LOVE LIKE THIS
ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME SECRETS TONIGHT
ARE YOU GOING TO SET MY WORLD ALIGHT
ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME TALES FROM THE HEART
ABOUT LIFE AND THE TIMES WHEN WE WERE APART
BEFORE WE KNEW THERE WAS
SOMEONE OUT THERE LIKE US
THERE IS NO MYSTERY TO A MAN BEING TRUE
NO MAGIC BOOK TO SAY WHAT TO DO
JUST ONE SPECIAL WOMAN WHO WILL BE
THE ONE TO GAIN HIS UNDYING LOYALTY
TO NEVER BE UNDONE
TO LIVE AND FEEL LIKE ONE
Chorus
ARE YOU READY FOR A LOVE LIKE THIS
ARE YOU READY FOR A LOVE LIKE THIS
ARE YOU READY TO TAKE
THAT BLIND LEAP OF FAITH
ARE YOU READY FOR A LOVE LIKE THIS
ARE YOU READY FOR A LOVE LIKE THIS
NO COMPROMISE, NO WHITE WEDDED BLISS
JUST TRUTH AND MORE TRUTH AND DEEPER IN YOU GO
TILL THERE'S NOTHING LEFT YOU DO NOT KNOW
ABOUT THE SECRETS OF THE MIND
FROM THE WORLD YOU LEFT BEHIND
Chorus
